Steve Smith, a retired railroad industry professional from Horatio, AR, is a dedicated individual with a wealth of experience. With over thirty years of coaching experience in travel ball, Smith brings his expertise and enthusiasm to the college softball realm.

As a father of four, Smith values mentorship and guidance. In the 2023-2024 softball season, he began a new chapter as a college assistant coach at the University of Arkansas - Rich Mountain. Under the guidance of Head Coach Tracy Nealy, a lifelong friend, Coach Smith found his passion for coaching.

During his time as an assistant coach, Smith played a crucial role in leading the Bucks to great success. The team achieved an impressive 38 wins, securing a national ranking as high as 13th for four weeks and an outstanding 19-1 record against in-state opponents in Arkansas. Known for his strong work ethic and positive attitude, Coach Smith is a dedicated recruiter committed to the softball program's success. His wisdom, joy, and commitment will undoubtedly benefit both the student-athletes and the community.
